How do we use Permaculture at Ark Eden?
At Ark Eden, we use permaculture concepts throughout our site to demonstrate these sustainable systems at play.
These solutions also inform our sustainability curriculum tied programmes such as Farm to Table, Zero Waste, Sustainable Design, Model Farms, Water Management.
These programmes can be scaled up or down in complexity, relevant for all ages.
Permaculture Design Certificate
Ark Eden offers occasional Permaculture Design Certificate (PDC) courses with internationally renowned permaculture instructors.

These courses are generally 10 to 14 days and are ideal for both novice and advanced students who are interested in ecological design and incorporating sustainable living and processes into their communities.
​
PDC's cover how food, waste, water, people and energy are inter-related and how we can design agricultural and urban communities to become resilient, eco-conscious spaces that move away from our dependent consumer behaviour.

Internships
We offer a range of internships for the ecological enthusiast. ​
​
Long term live in internships
We have the capacity to house 3 long term internships for a course of one year.
Our long term interns are usually graduate students, who have a background in environmental sustainability and/or education.

Short term internships
For local students, we also offer short term internships where students can use their skills to enhance the project, mission and vision of Ark Eden.
​
These skills can be anything from graphic design, photography, blogging, multi media, videos, education based and whatever else you can think of.
